Jiva Technology

where are all the fingernails?

Its a nervous time for the folks at Jiva. Our desire to transform the world of education is coming up against the brutal reality of delivering the alpha release of our flagship product Tutorhub. We’re busy recruiting parents and offspring in school years 7-12 to help us pilot the alpha version of the site. Whilst this has the ring of a sci-fi fantasy, its actually slightly more mundane; we need to make sure it does what it says on the tin. So there’ll be some free maths tutoring for the lucky participants and we’re fingers crossed that our plan is spot on: to bring change to an industry that hasn’t altered much since the time of Plato. By the way, anyone wanting to join in the pilot, feel free to email us on enquiries@jivatechnology.com

  • Will you use Hobo and Ruby on Rails again? I just found Hobo the other day and I’m curious what others think of it. As a group that has used it, will you continue with it for your next project(s)?

  • Hi Sean,
We are and will continue to be very active Rails users here at Jiva. Hobo was a very powerful framework that we used in our first product, Beanbag Learning, but we have had issues getting people who are familiar with the technology. Please feel free to get in touch if you want to talk more.
